Respondus LockDown Browser - Students

Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within Drexel Learn. When using LockDown Browser, students are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment is started, students are locked into it until they submit it for grading. LockDown Browser can be used on a PC or a Mac.  Instructors can read this article for details on setting up a test using Respondus LockDown Browser.

To install LockDown Browser

  • Login to http://learn.drexel.edu
  • Click Tech Support / Respondus
  • Click on the link inside of the Respondus LockDown Browser box

  • Respondus.com will automatically detect your system (Windows or Mac). Note that you can optionally choose Windows or Mac.
  • Click Install Now
  • Save the file to your desktop
  • Double-click the file to install
  • Click Finish when done

Before you use LockDown Browser, make sure that you have closed all of your active applications. If you miss a few, don't worry. LockDown browser will remind you when you try to use it. When you are ready to take your test, you simply open LockDown Browser as you would your normal browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
